Glen Campbell

1 November 1998

Coors Events Center, Boulder, CO

Twice a year, the Northern Colorado Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge holds a benefit concert in Boulder, CO. Proceeds from the benefit help to support, for instance, widows of officers lost in the line of duty. This time around, the Lodge invited Glen Campbell. $15. Hellofadeal.

After a comedic magician opener, Glen walked out with his Goodtime band and performed "Gentle On My Mind", and then many more of his hits. Unlike the standard program he used for his Branson Show, Glen has pitched the variety hour theme on stage, and has decided to stick with focusing on the performance of himself and his band, containing a large contingent from his Branson days.

In the 1960s, Glen played bass and/or guitar on numerous hits by various artists, as part of what was known as the "Wrecking Crew" of session musicians. Besides playing on many Beach Boys hits, he also did replacement time for Brian Wilson on bass on vocals. Glen touched on that part of his history by performing a nice medley of Beach Boys classics on which he is credited for session time. "Good Vibrations", "Dance Dance Dance", "God Only Knows", "Help Me Rhonda", etc.

What can you say, he still looks much younger than he is. He still puts on a great show, and everyone still has a good time when he's on stage.
